Kristi Greene, Executive Coordinator

Kristi joined Ready for School, Ready for Life as the Executive Coordinator in February 2021.

Prior to joining Ready Ready, Kristi was the Office Manager for the JDRF (formerly Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) Piedmont Triad Chapter for over 9 years. She was responsible for the day-to-day financial and operational functions of the Chapter. Her responsibilities also included preparing the Chapter for the annual internal audit, ensuring all IRS requirements were being followed. In addition, she was a strong advocate with Board members and volunteers for the mission of JDRF to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat Type 1 Diabetes.

Prior to JDRF, Kristi’s work history and responsibilities included contract management, technical writing, and communications, end-user computer and systems training, and project coordination.

Kristi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics/Computer Science with a minor in Psychology from UNC-Charlotte. She is married with 3 children and a spoiled Morkie named Moose. When she is not working, Kristi loves the mountains, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Angela Powell, Grants Manager

Photo of Angela PowellAngela Powell joined the Ready for Life, Ready for School team as Grants Manager in February 2021. Her responsibilities include maintaining current grants, creating grant systems, and sourcing new grant funding for the organization. Angela brings more than 15 years of non-profit management, development, fundraising, events and grants management experience to her new role.

Beginning her career at the Robin Hood Foundation in New York City, Angela worked to raise funds for families affected by the 9/11 terrorist attacks and for programs that fight to end poverty in the City of New York. During her career, she has also led Development teams at The Charleston Stage and The Charleston Ballet in Charleston, SC, and at Triangle Family Services in Raleigh, NC.

What continues to drive Angela is the mission-focused work that creates measurable impact within her community. Angela holds a Bachelor of the Performing Arts from Oklahoma City University. She has a son and a daughter and enjoys spending time with her children and husband. She also enjoys tennis, theater, and travel.
