Background

Ready for School, Ready for Life (Ready Ready) is a collaborative effort to build a connected, innovative system of care for Guilford County’s youngest children and their families. Our focus is ensuring all children in Guilford County and their families get the resources they need for healthy development. We want every child born in Guilford County from 2022 and beyond to enter kindergarten developmentally on track in five key areas:

  • Physical
  • Language and communication
  • Social-emotional
  • Cognitive
  • Approaches to play and learning

Family voice informs our work, and we share our learning with residents and community stakeholders. We also work with more than 100 community partners in Guilford County and North Carolina to create this system of care. As a backbone organization, our goal is population-level change.

The Grants Manager is responsible for maintaining current grants, sourcing additional grants, and periodic internal communication to funders.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to and further the systems-building mission of the organization
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of organization’s history and programs
  • Write, submit, and manage grant proposals
  • Track grant applications
  • Ensure compliance with grant regulations
  • Keep the relevant staff informed about upcoming deadlines and deliverables Prepare and monitoring budgets
  • Furnish prospective funders with supporting documents (in partnership with CEO and VPs)
  • Collaborate with Vice President of Operations and CEO to send funders information
  • Collaborate with Vice President of Operations to compile organization’s annual report
  • Provide detailed reports to the Vice President of Operations and CEO with respect to the organization’s grant procurement progress
  • Determine funding needs and opportunities, including new sources of funding
  • Develop a sustainable grant program and optimize the grant administration process
  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain records in hard copies and computer databases
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education, Skills and Experience

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years relatable experience preferred
  • Methodical and strategic thinking
  • Good communication skills
  • Project management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Budgeting and accounting experience
  • Knowledge of auditing policies
  • Knowledge of donor agencies
  • Strong writing skills
  • Proficient with MS Office Word and Excel
  • Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong people skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
